How to purchase tickets
While tickets for TeamLab Planets are available on-site, it is recommended to purchase them online in advance. This not only eliminates the need to wait in line for tickets but also ensures availability, avoiding the risk of tickets being sold out at the venue.
Online ticket options include specialized travel service platforms like Klook. Alternatively, you can directly visit the official English website of TeamLab Planets to make your purchase, as the official website has an English interface. It’s important to note that tickets are typically available for purchase up to two months in advance. For example, if you plan to visit in July, tickets may be available for purchase as early as May.
How to Enter and Important Information
At the entrance of TeamLab Planets, on the right-hand side, there is a tented area with a sign displaying the currently open entry time slots. When it’s your designated entry time, proceed to that area and wait in line. Entry is facilitated by scanning the QR code on your ticket.
If you purchased your QR ticket on the official website, it will be sent to your email.
Upon entering the exhibition, there will be a brief orientation. Here are some key points to note :
The facility includes water features, and in some areas, the water depth may reach near the middle of the calf. It is recommended to wear shorts, or if wearing pants, ensure they can be rolled up to the knees.
Avoid carrying too many items, as they may be difficult to retrieve if dropped into the water.
Certain areas have mirrored surfaces on the floor, so wearing skirts or loose clothing is not advised.
TeamLab Planets Entrance Queue Area
Before entering, remember to download their app. The app not only provides information about the artworks but also allows you to interact with them!
Soft Black Hole – Your Body Becomes a Space that Influences Another Body
Venturing through the pitch-black pathway, you’ll arrive at a soft black hole. Navigating the soft floor is quite challenging; honestly, walking on it is difficult, so most people opt to crawl through. After completing this section, everyone is left breathless. Due to the instability of standing, capturing photos resulted in a chaotic scene.
The Infinite Crystal Universe
The Infinite Crystal Universe is the most popular spot in the museum, as evident from the countless tagged photos on Instagram. It’s safe to say that this place is truly photogenic. The crystal installations create a mesmerizing play of light and shadow, continuously changing over time. Paired with the accompanying sound effects, it feels like being in an ethereal space. Don’t forget to pick up the TeamLab Planets app to interact with the artwork!
Drawing on the Water Surface Created by the Dance of Koi and People – Infinity
This area features artworks related to water, where the water surface projects colorful koi fish. Upon touching the koi fish, they transform into petals. In order to witness the entire spectacle of petals, everyone chases after the fish.
Floating in the Falling Universe of Flowers
Here, you can enjoy the blooming and falling of flowers throughout the four seasons. You can sit or lie down to appreciate the play of light and shadows cast by the flowers. Sometimes, the movement of the floor creates a dazzling effect, making it feel like the entire room is in motion.
Expanding Three-dimensional Existence in Transforming Space – Flattening 3 Colors and 9 Blurred Colors
A space composed of various spheres, where the spheres change colors in response to the music.
Moss Garden of Resonating Microcosms – Solidified Light Color, Dusk to Dawn
The Moss Garden, echoing the Small Universe Cluster, is the second exhibition area located outdoors. Here, staff provides slippers. However, stepping out from the dim indoor spaces to the bright outdoors may take some time for the eyes to adjust.
Floating Flower Garden: Flowers and I are of the Same Root, the Garden and I are One
Also in the second exhibition area, here, there are time and capacity limitations. Visitors enter in batches, creating a scene that is perfect for photography. If you feel that the allotted photography time is not sufficient, you can join the queue for another round.
